Apple.com search reveals PowerBook G5 appears in article posted on Apple.com (http://www.apple.com/education/hed/academia/creative/architecture.html)...
Late april fools I think. Looks like a typo. Maybe the writer had G5 on the brain?

Charge him 20 dollars and a lap dance at your favourite strip club for it. That's a fair market price for a 4 year old computer.

The Apple Learning Interchange was used for collaboration, not just publishing lesson plans. It had a members list and places for interaction so educators could connect with and work with each other. I don't see how the iTunes U can replace that. This seems like a step down.

aaand a short question..: :)
How does it work with audiobooks?
Say I listen to an audiobook, can I swich and listen to another song for a while, and then return to the audiobook and start where I last stopped? Or do I have to listen to the whole book at once?

2)Serial Number
Original:
As I say before, 3 companies make adapters for Apple. Delta/Liteon/Samsung.
Serial Number like this: MV9200G9J81WA
MV stands for Delta, 9 means 20 means 20weeks. This one is made by Delta in May, 2009.
ZZ stands for Liteon, Samsung with R start.
These may change in future, and I dont know the meaning of 0G9J81WA, if somebody knows pls tell me.
Conside manufacturers name is showed on case, you could check whether serial no. is the same with manufacturer. And choose the date in 2010 would be better than 2008.
Someone make high-copy serial no. please dont choose adapters only accord to it.

I've ordered mine online but might show up. Are they handing out stuff to people in line or do you have to buy Leopard to get some of the freebies?

This does look like iOS4 is turning into Apple's Vista. .
The biggest difference... Apple will fix the problems. MS just let it go.
BTW... I've noticed lots of little things too... the most annoying being the proximity sensor issues. But I have confidence they will get fixed. I'm just hoping soon. :) But heck... it's only been just over a month since it shipped. :D

Well, I'm now running a 6040, so not exactly stellar points wise, but better than the 6701:
TPF: 15 min 43 s
PPD: 7445
This is really just an experiment for the mpb - Once I decide on which SSD to get it will become my main home machine.
What is slightly concerning is that the CPU is at 85 C, but the heatsink temperatures are at 45 and 46 C. That really does suggest that the thermal paste isn't doing it's job of letting the heat move to the heatsink.
I'm trying to resist the urge to redo it with some AS5 to see if I can drop the CPU temp, but for normal (non folding!) use I can't see it being a problem.
hmm. do we have any numbers for other machines folding the same units? i would like to see how it stacks up to an i7 920 at stock speeds.

Wow, it's nice of Apple to provide a little explanation there!
Does this mean they might change the appearance more drastically later, instead of just re-enabling Graphite?
It could mean that, or it could mean they just haven't updated the graphite versions of the buttons/loading bars/etc yet. I would love to see them offer more color options, but I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being just blue and graphite again. :o

- I meant I tried all types of reboot and also several restore from iTunes.
- It is not the apps that I thought was causing it. After removing the apps that were updated it is still happening, BUT -- I now can clear it usually after one or more hard reset (power+home+10secs).
- I also notice that the touch screen is getting a little less responsive -- I use NoteTaker HD and can tell the difference when I am writing.
- I wonder if it is due to environmental changes? It is getting warmer and dryer here in the East coast. I also have a screen protector on it but that was installed weeks ago. (BSE) But I hate to peel it off to test at this point.
Really no one else is having this problem?

What will you be using it for? I always suggest the Mac mini as the "switcher machine." But a Power Mac G4 will also be nice, especially since it is easy to upgrade.

You know, after 16 years on the Internet you'd think I'd know how to find ***** by now.
Thanks much. No idea why I only looked on eBay and Craigslist.
If only they made a website where I could search a whole BUNCH of websites at once. Hmmmmmmmm......
No problem.
I use the deals section on Lowendmac (http://lowendmac.com/deals.shtml) to find what im looking for if i cannot find it on ebay/craigslist

Okay, it's animated now, but that pushed the file size up from 103 to 245 octets. I hope the server can handle it.
It's animated to do what? Turn from black to black? ;) :D

does it need a video card in it?
i would assume so, though it only needs to be a crappy video card. the problem is that the BIOS or EFI or whatever firmware is running on the motherboard would usually freak out if it couldnt find a video device. i know ive turned on many machines in my building days and usually if they dont have one of the essentials (ram, proc, an input device, a video out device) they just beep and hang.

I solved the problem... apparently using the button to perform the action I needed, will indeed require me to click on it twice and then only perform the pan action. So I removed it and added an Image and added gesture recognizer to it.
