I've had several pages lock up both safari and ie (I only tried ie to see if it would hose a standard browser as well!) on my ibook. It's those crappy "profile editors" that people use to customize their sites. Firefox on my PC works fine but I think the ibook's browsers are so shocked by the heinous html butchery that they just can't go on.

I got my 10.5 yesterday, but I still want to go to the apple store near my office (it's only a block away). Do you guys think they will be giving the free stuff to only people who buy leopard, or does anyone in the crowd get one? I plan to buy a new bag and some accessories for my MacBook.

It was originally 250 and it was one that was up for the 100 dollar rebate. When i ordered it the website said that it was on back order adn that it would probably take 6 weeks to get here, which did not bother me seeing as i did not need it right away.
I just called them and they said it was discontinued and that they no longer carried it. Meaning that i ordered a printer 5 weeks ago that in the end would never get here. I am peeved because when i ordered the printer it was not discontinued. And while there are some other printers availible they are not the ones that i want!! I want the one i ordered 5 weeks ago.
Apple should at least honor the orders that were mad for that printer before it was discontinued!!

Apple and every other computer maker is going to be held back. Don't you think apple had sandy bridge based computers in the pipeline

Ugh, I just bought CleanMyMac. Could you elaborate more why these products are bad to use? Thanks
AppZapper, AppCleaner, CleanApp, TrashMe, and similar apps do not do a thorough job of removing all files/folders related to deleted apps. I tested several of these, using Skype as the app to be removed. Of 17 items to be removed:
AppZapper missed 13 items
AppCleaner missed 11 items
AppDelete missed 8 items
Hazel missed 9 items
I also tested AppTrap, CleanMyMac and a few others, but don't recall how many items they missed. All left files/folders behind. In most cases, they remove .plist files and a few others, but leave behind much larger files and folders. (you will find a discussion of these tests in the thread linked below)

These type of threads are not really permitted on macrumors, however if you go on eBay just type in the model MBP you have, or a similar model of it to get an idea of pricing. Gumtree is good as well.

The Denison unit seems good enough, but I don't like the dock....bulky.
I'd prefer the solution Monster has come up with, that is, just a cable to connect to the iPod...no dock.
I wonder what the prices are like for the Denison ice>Link is. $200 for the Monster solution seems pretty steep.
You can get the Denision unit without the dock too, just the cable. Same price either way though.

As for future support for syncing iOS devices, iTunes will be the biggest culprit. iTunes 10 requires 10.5.8, it's likely that the next major update to iTunes requires 10.6, which PPC's can't run. The big question is, how soon until that happens? With Lion due out this summer, I doubt it will take 2 years before Apple drops support for Leopard.

Thanks for the suggestion. I noticed it has a scheduling feature which is nice and what I've been looking for. I have several other questions in relation to this:
What kind of hardware would I need for this, and what type of internet connection? Would a normal pc or a netbook with an attached higher quality webcam (thinking of going with a higher quality Logitech) be enough? What about bandwidth usage? Wouldn't I need a really fast upload connection if I'm planning on using a direct stream? Cable modem? FIOS? Or is there some service which allows you to stream to them and they relay to your site (similar to Justin.tv or Stream.tv, though I'd prefer not to deal with them in particular)?

I have done this a couple of times now, once just through my built in camera, the quality of the camera, is crap, but when i saw it on the internet i didn't think it was that bad. I have also used a high quality camera (cost me around �50) and the quality was fantastic, did lag at times, but you get that no matter where you go.
