I did but sorta regret it ... it's not SO unstable that it's unusable, but some features such as no Rosetta and the few bugs that make it annoying to use, do make me regret upgrading. Thankfully updates are coming regularly so things are only improving, and I dual-boot into W7 whenever something needs to get done bug-free.

I am also having some issues, but up until now Lion has been very stable. Spotlight doesnt always find my apps, but I am giving it some more time...

Have any of you tried upgrading (for whatever reason, maybe coming from a 3GS) and been questioned about the unlimited plan? It's still some 14 months away for me but I was just curious what might transpire when I try upgrading and they see I got unlimited data even though I joined AT&T AFTER June.

You'll find out at WWDC what the final version will be.

I doubt it, WWDC is likely to be devoted to iPhone 5 with iOS 5. Apple is likely to do a small special media event for Lion like the Lion Preview event last year.

Found a great review on the Wack-o-phone...

Its a german site but used google to translate it so may not be the best grammar but great review.

Don't think you could go wrong with this keyboard. As to comparing it to the AluBook????? I don't have one and my experience is limited to a few keystrokes at an Apple retailer. HOWEVER, it does seem to compare very nicely from my limited experience. Trust me, this is a nice keyboard especially if you are used to laptops. Finally, I think you might be in luck. I believe I did a Google search and came up with some European/Japanese sites that carried this and/or had some reviews of it. I could swear that in a review I came across some info that you could get a BT version of the IceKey. If they sold it here in the states I'd get one as my G5 is BT. My goal is to "cut the cord" so to speak. I highly recommend the Icekey.... good luck. Cheers

Did some digging and found an old review of the IceKey. Think that it will address your concerns regarding "feel". Check it out. http://www.insidemacgames.com/reviews/view.php?ID=359

    Cheers

    roland.g,

It's not an unreasonable suggestion. The need for an iOS subforum depends in part on the quantity of IOS-themed threads we routinely have, other than those in the News forums and the programming forums. Can you point out more than a few currently active threads that fall into this category? I haven't spotted many.

    D.Q.,

They are everywhere in my opinion. Many people are talking about the iOS software, features, release date, etc. and if I wanted to start a thread I'm not sure I'd know which forum to start it in, iPhone or iPad, likewise, within that main forum or in the tricks, troubleshooting subs.

    Examples.

    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1050827

http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1042931 - this one mentions iPhone but it is a general Airplay and Apple TV discussion.

    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1047779

    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1049338

    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1051521

    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1050527

    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1050463

    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1050820

Just to show some of the recent ones. I think it will be even more helpful when it is released and in the future now that the iOS is consolidated on all devices to discuss announced new features coming or those found in betas.

While some of these threads are obviously posted by someone in regard to a specific device, that doesn't mean the discussion isn't broad enough for all. That's simply my point. We talk about OS X but leave iOS discussion to each device forum. Should I go to iMac or MacBook to talk about OS X because that's what I'm running it on. Like I said, I just thought it was time.

why has nobody ever replied to this???

Unfortunately, on busy days sometimes posts get lost, like this one probably did.

However - congratulations to 18thTomorrow on one of the lowest cost switching stories I've heard. A G3 with monitor for $150? Sweet.

^Thank you for that chart. I'll have fun cleaning it out, for sure.

The iMac I bought off of eBay has a the ABS. I'll have to get used to not using a back-lit keyboard, but I think I'll be fine.

It's a bit of a stretch to conclude that he was comparing the Yankees' brass to the Nazis. He was merely comparing a method of eradicating someone's legacy used by the Nazis, and Stalin, et.al. to what the Yankees have done regarding Torre. The inference has to be drawn. It wasn't made. He did not say "Yankees' executives are like Nazis." Yes, it's necessary for him to say it directly to draw that conclusion.

AE, Premiere, and Maya are my main applications. All of which still have the ability to render faster even with my 12-core machine. When it comes to video and 3D rendering, render times can always be faster.

    1) I love my MS BT mouse and the only lag I've ever noticed is when you haven't used the mouse for a few mins. when it takes maybe half a sec. to 'wake', no problem. I'd very much recommend mapping the buttons to Expose/dasboard, you'll never go back to either Windows or a single mouse button.
    2) BUy RAM elsewhere and fit it yourself, it's a doddle.
    3) I'd say the iCurve would be fine and recommend an external keyboard, wired or BT.

I deleted my time machine preferences and started from scratch (full reset as its called). It backed up last night and then this morning it reported that the disk was full. It was more of an alert than an error. I said OK and started the next backup and it failed, same error. I've got 641GB of free space on the disk! My backup set is large but it should only be backing up the changes so it shouldn't be bombing out. Nothing on my computer changed over night (or sure as hell not 641GB worth of changes!

i think the biggest hurdle to leap over to run panther, are the graphic card limitations of the older machines. stuff like the cube user switching and expose are going to be cpu and graphic card intensive. do you think those older machines would be able to handle those?
